, my name is Melissa Russell, and I am a proud mother of 4 children. Exercising has always been part of my life since I was 6. I had toxemia with my last 2 pregnancies and gained close to 1oo#’s. Over the last 6 years, Summer’s Fitness 24/7 helped me off and on. The trainers were great at mixing up my work outs and creating a diet plan suitable for me.
My story is about finding the willpower within yourself and never giving up. Even through back surgery, knee surgery (twice), working on a part-time basis, taking college classes, and raising 4 beautiful children, I never gave up.
Whatever obstacles are put in front of you, there is always a way to overcome what you are dealing with. Believe in yourself! Find time for “me” and do not feel guilty doing it. If you aren’t happy no one else will be around you! Everyone juggles busy lives these days, I get that, but there is NO excuse to make excuses!   A wise person once told me that life is not a sprint, but to look at it as a marathon with long-term goals.”

"I was your typical yo-yo dieter. At 18, I weighed 98 pounds and battled anorexia and bulimia. By the time I was 24, my weight was 202 pounds. 
I began lifting weights when I was 29 and contemplated entering a bodybuilding contest, but never did it. My weight continued to bounce around and in May 2007 I decided to start training with IFBB fitness pro Summer Montabone. To say that she has changed my life is an understatement. I was able to achieve the look I had always wanted by lifting weights, cardio (step mill, stepper, & treadmill), combat fitness and boot camp classes and following the nutrition advise.  I couldnʼt have done it without them. At 39 years young, I feel better about myself than I ever have and hope to be a positive role model to others."

"Three years ago, when I was in my mid-fifties, I was beginning to struggle physically in my job working with disabled preschool students. My hip hurt when I sat on the floor and I had constant pain in my back from lifting and carrying. I also was experiencing bone loss. I started weight training with Summer Montabone and the combination of stretching and strengthening has gotten me into better shape than I have been my whole life. I work without pain and I am stronger and have better posture. A couple of years ago, I asked Summer to come to one of our staff meetings to do a presentation. She taught our teachers how to stretch with bands. The presentation was well received and inspired some of our teachers to get into better shape. Summer works well with all ages; from "senior" participants to adolescents. I have experienced a wide range of ages in my training sessions with Summer and she is able to adapt her training strategies to every age and need. I am always impressed with how she juggles the different needs and goals of each person within the same session.Two of our preschool classes have participated in a fitness session at Summer's gym. The teachers were very pleased with their experience. Overall, Summer is a very conscientious and skilled trainer. She makes sure that everyone on her staff is qualified and works to her standard."

"I must say I was bit apprehensive about joining any exercise program. At 65 I was sure I would make a fool of myself with the 30 & 40 year olds and not be able to keep up. Debbie does such a good job of being able to adapt every exercese to our individual ability that being older with a little arthritis or someone having shoulder problems really wasnt an issue at all. Debbie adds a lot of humor to the class so we laugh and sweat at the same time making the class really enjoyable.
