Through gym ownership, Summer is able to achieve her true passion in life: helping people to feel better about themselves. Because when you look beyond her entrepreneurial spirit, beyond her considerable credentials, and professional achievements, Summer is a giver. She cares deeply about seeing her clients gain the personal satisfaction from achieving their fitness goals.
She is an advocate for wellness and seeing her clients live healthier lives. Summer’s Fitness 24/7 is the vehicle through which Summer changes people’s lives for the better. It’s a feeling that never gets old for this acclaimed personal trainer, whose talents and energy are boundless.
Summer really has done it all! A former professional fitness athlete, she has appeared in national fitness magazines and DVDs as a model. A published author and contributing expert as well as a nutrition educator, her list of certifications is long and well studied.
In November of 2004, Summer achieved a career milestone when she won the “Tall Class” of the National Physique Committee (NPC) Fitness Championships in Dallas, Texas. With that victory, she earned her International Federation of Bodybuilders (IFBB) professional card and took her career to another level. Earlier that same year, Summer won the overall NPC Ohio State Fitness & Figure Championship.
She became a certified strength & conditioning specialist (CSCS) in 2003 through the National Strength & Conditioning Association. Summer also is certified in prenatal and HPL resistance band instruction. Before moving back to her home area of Akron, Ohio, to train and start her business, Summer taught at Toledo Whitmer High School.
A track & field athlete in college, Summer graduated from The University of Toledo in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. In addition, she was president of the UT Gymnastics Club, a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, and Wellness Employee of the Year at the UT Student Recreation Center.
A 1994 Akron Manchester graduate, Summer is the oldest of six brothers and sisters.
